dc.description“$10,000 hospital kiosk opened” details the opening of Gosford District Hospital’s kiosk, constructed by Gosford Rotary Club. Hospital board member Mr. Nev Byrnes revealed the cost of the building, excluding work done by Rotary was $10,000 with the kiosk to be staffed by ladies of the Hospital Auxiliary on a voluntary basis. Mr. Byrnes said the kiosk, envisaged for 22 years was a splendid reality due to the fund raising efforts of the Hospital Auxiliaries. Mr. Jim Kirkness (Gosford Rotary Club’s Community Services Director) told how Rotarian Bill Pluim, a building contractor had supervised the project. Mr Kirkness paid tribute to the assistance given by Mr. Byrnes, Mr. Neville Boyce, Matron Inskip and her staff. Mr. Bill Davis (Rotary President) officially opened the kiosk. Also in attendance Mr. Bob Vaughan and Mrs. T. Wicks (President of Gosford District Hospital Auxiliary) who unveiled a plaque set into the attractive quarry stone wall of the kiosk.en
