"Hospital's a Fun Place with Uncle Max Around". Image 1: Max Stewart, play leader at the children's ward at Gosford Hospital, has an attentive audience in Alexandra Brann, 10, of Point Claire, and Donna Lane, 6, of Saratoga. Max often plays his guitar for young patients able to take part in the play room activities. Image 2: Four-year-old Sara Smith of Noraville, forgets all about her broken leg while she is paining. Sara, who is wheeled into the big playroom in the children;s ward at Gosford Hospital each day, says it is all "good fun". Here Sara is assisted by her mother, Mrs Robyn Smith. Image 3: ABOVE: Mothers, and brothers and sisters just out of school. all take part in the activities in the play room, where everyone does their own thing. Some of the children's art work adorns the walls. Image 4: LEFT: Sister Vicki Smith of the children's ward at Gosford Hospital checks the pulse of seven-year-old Jan Sherrington of North Gosford without disturbing her play on the rocking horse which is set up in the corridor just outside the play room. Image 5: BELOW: Geoffrey Weightman, 14, of Dooralong was laid up in bed with severe burns to his right leg but he still got plenty of attention. Playing draughts with Geoff are Year 11 Erina High School students, Jackie Kelly (left) of Terrigal and Nerida Blewett, also of Terrigal.
