Description: "Hospital Expansion Detailed" explains the acquisition of the Wingello Nursing Home to Gosford District Hospital for the sole purpose of creating Wyoming Hospital. The Nursing Home is currently holding 53 in-patients and the Hospital will continue to care for them. This is an attempt to relieve bed pressure on the surrounding hospital, explained by Mrs Muriel Westweller (Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at Gosford District Hospital) with Gosford District at 200 beds, Woy Woy Hospital at 34 beds and Entrance-Long Jetty Hosptial at 30 beds and a staff total of 600. A target of December 1973 has been placed for an extension at Gosford District Hospital for an additional 200 beds from $10 million from the Government with much needed extensions to be put in place.
