"Gosford Hospital to Rank Second Biggest In Country". Image 1: Mr R. M. Vaughan. | Description: | "Gosford Hospital to Rank Second Biggest In Country" details the planned extensions for Gosford District Hospital would probably rank second biggest hospital complex outside the metropolitan area, including the subsidiary hospitals at Woy Woy and Long Jetty and Wyoming. The extension is planned to start in 1975. The board administered Gosford Hospital's 200 beds, 34 beds at Woy Woy Hospital and 34 at The Entrance-Long Jetty Hospital as well as 76 at Wyoming Hospital (previously Wingello Nursing Home). The Growth Factor for the Central Coast has a major impact on the hospitals and adding such services as the after hours medical service at Woy Woy Hospital in 1972, has greatly increased the care provided to residents. The hospital complex has a staff of 680. Support given by local organisations, according to Mr Vaughan, is generous, valuable and encouraging. | URI: | https://elibrary.cclhd.health.nsw.gov.au/cclhdjspui/handle/1/529 | Publicaton type: | Memorabilia | Subject: | Newspaper Articles;Gosford District Hospital;Woy Woy Hospital;Wyong Hospital; The Entrance-Long Jetty Hospital;Infrastructure, External |
