Abstract: Article regarding Woy Woy Hospital in the Central Coast Express Newspaper, 28th February 1966. "No Hospital for Woy Woy". No Image.
Description: "No Hospital for Woy Woy" details Mr Ted Humpries (MLA), speaking at a public meeting that Woy Woy would not get a public Hospital in the foreseeable future. A Nursing Home is suggested to be built on the land owned by Woy Woy Hospital Committee instead, pointing out that it could one day become part of the hospital. It is expected that the Committee will reject this proposal to keep the faith of the public for a hospital. President of the Woy Woy Lions Club, Mr Tom Waugh, praised the report, while Mr Perc Cornish, Foundation Member of Hospital Committee, was disappointed. Secretary of Gosford Hospital, Neville Boyce, conveyed the need for extensions at Gosford Hospital to bring it to "State Average" and that the Nursing home proposal should be considered by Dr F Sacks, State Geriatric Care. Chairman of the Woy Woy Hospital Committee, Mr Arthur Osborne, told the meeting that the committee will discuss the details. Guests included Mr Humphries, Mr Boyce, Cr. Ida Hoskin, Cr. Gordon Baines, Mr Little and Matron Inskip.
