This means that blood will be readily available in case of emergency, without the delay of waiting for supplies from Sydney. Previously a mobile unit visited the shire twice a year but with the co-operation of local citizens the number of 500 blood donations can and need to go up to over 2,000. There are few requirements for giving blood and the office hours of the bank are listed.
