Description: "Hospital Fire Causes ₤1000 Damage" describes the fire that broke out in the new wing being constructed at Gosford District Hospital causing around ₤1000 damage to the roof. The fire is believed to have been caused by heat from welding, where insulation paper ignited and fire spread quickly along the laundry section of the new wing. The Clerk of Works said the fire was more of a nuisance and that the quick arrival of the Fire Brigade was to be commended.
