dc.description“Ready for disaster” details Gosford District Hospital setting up a disaster plan to handle major emergencies occurring on the Central Coast including bus, train and aircraft crashes or shipwrecks. Hospital Superintendent Dr. I. J. Walters said under the new plan, the hospital switchboard operator would alert the medical superintendent, the matron, honorary medical staff, hospital doctors and the hospital’s blood bank. Specialised hospital departments including X-ray, pathology, pharmacy and physiotherapy would be placed on standby.en
