Abstract: Article regarding Gosford District Hospital in the Central Coast Express Newspaper, 2nd February 1979. "Hospital Phone Has Ears"; "Direct Line in Big Demand". Image: Clifford Blackburn, 10. of Riverwood, was the first patient at Gosford Hospital to try out the new Mickey Mouse telephone installed in the children's ward this week by courtesy of STC Sydney and Telecom. Watching Clifford use the new phone are Mr Noel Thomlinson, service manager of Telecom, Gosford, and Mrs Betty McNab of STC.
Description: "Hospital Phone Has Ears"; "Direct Line in Big Demand" details a Mickey Mouse decorator phone being installed in the children's ward at Gosford District Hospital by Standard Telephones and Cables (STC) and Telecom. The Mickey Mouse phone extension was given to all parents so they could call their children on the phone. The presentation ceremony at the hospital was attended by Mr Spithill and his secretary, Mrs Betty McNab, and by Mr Noel Thomlinson, service manager for Telecom, Gosford.
