Abstract: Abstract: This paper reports on the use of video and self-assessment as a tool to guide and support undergraduate students in the practice of nursing. This method of learning and assessment promoted self- and peer evaluation as well as critical thinking. It encouraged students to take more responsibility for their learning and assisted academic staff and students to identify learning issues associated with clinical practices. Evaluative comments by teachers, students and educational experts have established the credibility and continued use of this approach within the Bachelor of Nursing program at a major university in Sydney, Australia.
